Holiday Basket registration to begin October 6th
Grand Rapids, MI - Access of West Michigan has announced that registration for Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Baskets will begin October 6. Registration for Thanksgiving Baskets will end November 17 and registration for Christmas Baskets will end December first. Persons may sign up for either/or but not both. If a family has children 15 or younger they may also receive toys from Toys for Tots.
Clients need to fit within certain income guidelines and they must show a current photo ID to sign up, according the Access of West Michigan. Anyone on Medicaid is eligible. Clients will have to give the Social Security number for every household member. Access ask that parents bring Birth Certificates or School Records or Immunization Records to the sign up location. Eligibility can also be determined by paycheck stubs, W-2 income tax forms, formal letter from assistance agency or unemployment cards.
Just because a person has signed up for a basket does not mean that they will receive one, Access states on its flyer. There are several different provider organizations distributing baskets this year.
